It seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to lose their strongest, if not only, ally within the Royal Family, as she swervily makes plans to focus on more important things in the coming year.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Have “Other Issues” Aside From Prince Harry Drama
Prince Harry has always enjoyed a close relationship with his cousin, Princess Eugenie. Even after his catastrophic exit from the Royal Family, he continued to remain close to Eugenie, even lending her his then-UK residence Frogmore Cottage shortly after they vacated it to live in America.
Eugenie is also the only known member of the Royal Family to have visited the couple’s Montecito mansion. However, this bond seems to have cooled down considerably as Eugenie turns her attention to her charities and her family.
Whilst discussing how Eugenie could serve as a continuing link to the Royal Family for Harry, royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliams disagreed with the notion, saying, “Eugenie and Beatrice have other issues that they’re concerned with.”
He noted that King Charles’ confidence in their abilities has allowed the sisters to step up and engage more with several charities.
“Actually, it’s very much the case King Charles wants them on board and to continue being on board, although not working royals, of course. They are happily married, with careers, and do quite a lot of work for charity.”
Fitzwilliams went on to point out that Eugenie’s connection to the King’s Foundation reflects Charles’ trust on the sisters and his clear desire for inclusion. “Eugenie became a mentor for the King’s Foundation,” he readily pointed out.
In May, Eugenie was surprisingly named a mentor for The King’s Foundation’s “35 Under 35” network. In November, the 35-year-old royal followed this up by attending a mentor’s brunch for the programme.
Even though the sisters stepped up in a major way this year, the repeated problems of their parents is sure to be a notch eating away at their brain space.
Sarah Ferguson was cut from several charities following news of her association with Jeffrey Epstein, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was forced to relinquish his titles for the same reason.
“Obviously, with their parents’ problems,” he reasoned, “it’s a devastating year for them, I’m sure.”
As a result of this, Fitzwilliams doubted the sisters would be taking an active role in any other issues relating to the Royal Family, least of all Harry and Meghan’s numerous dramas.
