When the Sussexes left the Royal Family, so many people predicted that they’re likely to be so shorthanded that there’ll be many charities and organizations left in the dark.
But, as we’ve seen so far, the royals were able to cleanly divide the Sussexes’ patronages and charity works between themselves and carry on as if Harry and Meghan never existed for them.
Word on the street is that William’s latest engagement might be one that’ll likely make veteran Prince Harry feel like he’s missing out.
Prince William Visits the Army Air Corps For First Time In His Capacity As the Regiment’s Colonel-in-Chief
Prior to leaving the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan proposed a half-in half-out approach to royal life but was denied.
Since leaving it, they’ve gone on to create several entertainment projects with the likes of Netflix and Spotify, and Meghan has even launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
On the other side of the ocean, William is holding his own, and this Wednesday, he visited the Army Air Corps (ACC) in Suffolk as the regiment’s Colonel-in-Chief.
Originally appointed by King Charles in 2024, William’s Wednesday visit was his first engagement as the regiment’s Colonel-in-Chief.
Many believed that this role would have probably gone to Prince Harry, who served as an Apache helicopter commander and co-pilot gunner with the Army Air Corps during his second tour to Afghanistan in 2012, had he not chosen to step down.
The ACC is the British Army’s combat aviation arm, and is made up of several regiments, known for spotting pale blue berets. Formed in 1957 on the foundations of the Glider Pilot Regiment and the Air Observation Post Squadron, it now has bases in Hampshire, Shropshire, Somerset and Suffolk.
Its members train in the UK skies in preparation for when they’ll encounter combat situations anywhere in the world. In recent times, AAC squadrons have been deployed to the likes of Norway, Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Germany.
Apart from meeting and chatting with several of the regiment’s people, he was brushed up on the ACC’s work, as well as observed combat PT session.
He rounded up his visit by joining the ‘Archer’s Breakfast,’ which is a weekly social event held by 664 Squadron for its personnel and their families.
