Prince William and Princess Catherine’s move to their new home on the Windsor estate sparked lots of debate, which royal commentator Neil Sean addressed on his Daily News Headlines on Monday. According to Sean, the media twisted the story, creating a “commotion” over a simple family move.
What Is All The Fuss?
Sean told his YouTube followers, “I don’t really understand all the fuss about William and Catherine’s new home on the Windsor estate.” He then challenged claims that the royal couple had forced residents to leave, calling the headlines “absolute nonsense.”

He explained that the families were “relocated to better homes, and the original houses will be renovated.” The Royal Family expert also noted that the former residents could move back if they wished. He explained, “the situation “couldn’t have been handled more kindly or generously.” For Sean, the controversy is simply the media being negative, opining “[they] always twists things negatively, don’t they?”
A Strategic Move
The move, according to Sean, is a strategic and personal one for the Prince and Princess of Wales. They endured “difficult years in their previous residence” and simply want a new beginning. He highlighted that their initial move to their old home was to be closer to the Queen as she aged, which helped forge Catherine’s strong bond.
Now, however, the couple is being criticized for a decision that Sean believes shows Prince William’s protective nature towards his wife. He finds it “quite interesting” how William is “clearly prioritizing protecting his princess.”
Harry’s Involvement
Interestingly, this move allegedly created a complication for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While Harry reportedly shows interest in finding a place to live in London, his brother’s move to Forest Lodge effectively “closes the door on Harry and Meghan returning to Windsor.”
Sean added that a return to Kensington Palace is also unlikely due to “past tensions with staff,” as “memories like that don’t fade easily.” He went on to suggest that Harry’s last remaining option is to stay at Buckingham Palace.
That would probably need to be cleared by King Charles: especially “regarding security,” a process Sean believes is not “unreasonable.” However, he also said that Harry and Meghan reportedly find the location insufficiently secure. And, Neil thinks that seems a bit “ridiculous” when considering the tight security of the palace.
A Move For The Future King
Actually, Sean views Prince William’s actions as a gradual step into his future role. As the King takes on fewer duties, William is “gradually taking on more monarchial duties.” So, the new living arrangement supports that transition.
Sean concluded that neither William nor Catherine would want “Harry, Meghan, or their children wandering the estate, potentially causing more tension.” William made sure there’s a place for Harry to stay if necessary. However, it certainly isn’t the most desirable royal residence.
