In May, Prince Harry revealed that he’s open to reconciling with his family. Several months later, anyone can see that not many fruits of peace and love are actually blossoming for Harry and family. But you know that phrase; the one that says you can’t fault a guy for trying?
Well, royal insiders actually found fault with Harry’s pursuit of peace. They think it’s all a bunch of baloney, to quote Johnny English, that is.
His latest move might just be the example we need to define hypocrisy in 2025, or so some Palace insiders say.
Prince Harry’s Tribute To Late Grandfather Prince Philip Was Done In Bad Taste
Remember when Prince Philip was lying in the hospital dying and Prince Harry had decided it would be fun to sit in on Oprah and bash the Royal Family as hard as he can? Well, people don’t forget stuff that easily.
So when said Prince Harry turned around to deliver a stunning tribute to Prince Philip, you can guess that more than a few eyebrows were raised. If memory serves correctly, Philip died four weeks after the Oprah interview aired to massive global reaction.
“What hypocrisy,” a Royal Family insider told the Mail. “Harry hurt his grandfather deeply during the final year of his life.”
What Did Prince Harry Say In His Tribute Message To Prince Philip
Despite whatever final day rifts might have occured between the ‘Spare’ author and his grandfather, he still left him a tribute of sorts on his Archewell website, calling him a “the longest reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince, and a Duke.”
Yeah, the message was nowhere near what anybody might call impassioned, so perhaps he was making up for it with his VJ Day wreath message?
“For me, this anniversary carries an added layer of meaning. My late grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, served in the Pacific campaign,” he wrote in the wreath, which was delivered by a friend only when the King and Queen had departed from the memorial service.
He continued: “He spoke with quiet humility about those years, but I know how deeply he respected all who stood beside him in that theatre of war. Today, as I think of him, I think also of each of you, of the shared hardships, the bonds forged and the legacy you leave.”
