Prince William Stays the Course – Report Says No Radical Changes Like King Charles

Prince William Won’t Follow King Charles’ Radical PlaybookPrince William has been pretty open about his plans to implement a number of changes in the Monarchy when be becomes King.

For example, last year during his chat with Eugene Levy, he reiterated his intentions to make certain changes to the Monarchy’s system of running. This is probably meant to bring it fully forward to modern times.

Stuffy and outdated traditions are sure to go, of course. And perhaps Prince William will answer the prayer of royalists and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will finally get to lose their titles.

But, according to a royal expert, whatever changes he’s going to make, they’re not going to be ones that are so readily spotted by the outside world.

Royal Expert Claims Prince William’s Promised “Change” Will Be A “Soft” One

According to royal author Robert Hardman, if Prince William does indeed implement changes to the Monarchy, it will be incredibly subtle ones.

“He talks about change, but I think the sort of change he has in mind will be sort of internal. It might be sort of tonal,” the author told Marie Claire.

He denied the idea that William would pursue sweeping reforms. What he believes the royal dad of three will actually do will be to make certain royal proceedings “a little bit less ceremonial” with “a little less dressing up.”

Per Hardman, this will differ from the approach of his father, who, Hardman believes, was a tad radical in his changes. He said: “I don’t think he’s instinctively radical, whereas his father, I think, was.”

On what he based his logic on, Hardman shared, “You look at when Charles was William’s age now, he was constantly making speeches complaining about the state of architecture, education, heritage, pollution…he was a very outspoken heir to the throne.”

In contrast to Charles’ bold criticisms of certain structures in the UK when he was the Prince of Wales, the author noted, “William’s rather like the [late] Queen’s father, you know. He’s sort of dutiful, thoughtful, keen to do a good job, but not desperate to change the world.”

This is coming after an insider claimed that William isn’t afraid to make the tough calls for the benefit of the Monarchy. “William knows that — and he acts accordingly,” the source said on Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice substack. “He’s not trying to be liked. He’s trying to protect the monarchy.”
