Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle used to be the ones to dish out racism and bullying accusations that I genuinely wonder how they would feel now that the tables are turned.
For the head of Prince Harry’s Africa charity, Dr. Sophie Chandauka, it wasn’t a fun experience waking up in the morning to see the news that several of Sentebale’s board, including Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso, were abandoning the charity.
This was done, according to her, without as much as a heads-up. In Harry’s “sad” resignation statement, he cited an internal strife with the chair, and you can imagine how big the backlash that would arise from such a thing would be.
Now, Dr. Chandauka is hitting back and you can at least give her the credit of not pulling any punches.
Prince Harry Reportedly Unleashed His PR Machine To Drown Dr. Sophie Chandauka’s Reputation
If you ask me, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of bullying and employee abuse so many times that I’m genuinely starting to believe the other side of the story.
It was a “coordinated smear campaign” when it was in the UK, disgruntled former employees when it was in the US, and now it’s an incompetent Zimbabwean woman when it’s coming from Africa.
“The only reason I’m here is because at some point on Tuesday, Prince Harry authorized the release of a damaging piece of news to the outside world without informing me or my country directors, or my executive director,” Dr. Chandauka said during her Sky News interview.
“And can you imagine what that attack has done for me, on me and the 540 individuals in the Sentebale organizations and their famil[ies]?” she went on. “That is an example of harassment and bullying at scale.”
Touching on that viral clip where she was treated poorly by Meghan, she added, “Prince Harry asked me to issue some sort of a statement in support of the duchess, and I said I wouldn’t.
ot because I didn’t care about the duchess, but because I knew what would happen if I did so, No. 1. And No. 2, because we cannot be an extension of the Sussexes.”
The charity was created in 2006 to honor the late Princess Diana and to raise money for young victims of the H.I.V. pandemic in Lesotho.
Since its founding, it has expanded operations to include nearby Botswana, with its range of operations covering substance abuse, gender-based violence and the effects of climate change on young people.
Prince Harry is yet to directly respond to the accusations, but a source close to Princes Harry and Seeiso slammed Chandauka for carrying out a “publicity stunt” when she knew she was the one who failed to do her job.
