Prince Harry has a planned return to London for a charitable event and it’s raising questions about his public and private life, as well as the financial future of his projects. While the visit was officially announced, royal observers note the duke’s history of seeking privacy while also drawing attention to his movements.
A Testing Time For Harry
According to royal commentator Neil Sean, this will be “a testing time for Prince Harry returning back to the United Kingdom.” Sean, in his daily vlog, said to forget all the talk about a meeting “with King Charles,” as that would be a private matter. He speculated the King may be too busy to meet, or still at Balmoral. Harry, Sean believes, will be “looking and hopeful” because he needs to regain that “royal connection.”
The main reason for this trip is a charitable event for WellChild, one of the duke’s “passion projects” alongside the Invictus Games. However, Sean said there ‘s a “bigger problem at hand” for Harry. Another key person recently stepped down from the Invictus organization, and all charities struggle for funds in the current cost-of-living crisis.
Apparently, Prince Harry’s been tasked with raising a lot amount of money for the Invictus Games, scheduled for Birmingham in 2027. Neil Sean, who has supported the charity in the past, said that “without the funding, nothing moves forward.” He claimed that Harry’s been told there are various people he will have to meet while in the U.K. It will be a form of “grafting” to secure donations under the guise of charitable events.
The Commitment Concerns
Sean also raised concerns about Harry’s past charitable work, mentioning Sentebale, which “fell apart.” He also brought up reports that the duke and his wife, Meghan, allegedly only work “one hour” a week on their charitable events. So, he sarcastically called it “hardly stellar stuff.” There seems to be a great deal of pressure on Prince Harry to “pull in that big top dollar bill.”
Another topic of discussion is whether Harry might bring his family. Some people believe having his eldest child, Prince Archie, at an event could help to “loosen up some wallets.” However, Harry still sticks by his belief that it isn’t safe to bring his children back to the U.K. until his security is more “watertight.”
In the end, Sean speculated that “it could be the wallets that end up being watertight, and Harry’s security remains as loose as ever.” The question remains whether the duke’s star power can still attract the financial backing needed to ensure the success of the Invictus Games in 2027.
Reactions In The Comments
In the discussion area, Royal Family fans offered their opinions on the visit back to the UK. One of them wrote, “Trouble is those funds don’t go to the soldiers, they fund rich singers, hotels and her bl**dy clothing, disgusting.”
Here are a few more reactions:
- Harry’s ‘star power’ has about as much dazzle as a 15 watt bulb!
- For someone who’s always complaining about how dangerous London is, Harry’s always going there.
- All the reconciliation talk comes from Harry’s side. He has no idea how to reconcile. He just wants to wave his mistakes away to get what he wants.
- The first thing I do when I want privacy is to broadcast my whereabouts…Doesn’t everyone? Haz is a twit.
