Prince Harry Hasn’t Spoken To King Charles In A Long Time As Calls Left Unanswered

The rift between Prince Harry and his father King Charles have all but widened, after seemingly growing a bit smaller last year at the height of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

In fact, their relationship has deteriorated to a whole new level that King Charles is no longer picking Prince Harry’s phone calls.

Prince Harry and King Charles Have No Rapprochement, Even Amid the Former’s Security Battle

Prince Harry needs that sweet UK security he used to enjoy back, and he’s willing to fight for it until the very end.

Despite coming to the country multiple times over the course of a year, it is said that King Charles and Harry haven’t met each other in over a year.

In addition to this, there are reports that the King is no longer picking his younger son’s calls, or even answering his letters.

A source speaking to PEOPLE – the magazine the Duke recently gave an exclusive to – revealed, “I don’t think there is any rapprochement.”

Another adds, “Nothing has changed.” Yet another insider claimed that “They are distant.”

This is coming as Harry waits for the ruling on his appeal, which is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

However, Harry argues that none of this is necessary, if only his father would step in and intervene. This is a belief that the 40-year-old has held so strongly that he’s said to be sometimes frustrated at his father’s unwillingness to run to his aid.

A friend close to Harry more or less confirmed this when he said, “The King, he has made clear, is the one person he believes can bring an end to this nightmare in which he has become so deeply ensconced. If his security were restored, it would be “swords down”.”

Experts have revealed that perhaps this is the reason King Charles has kept his distance from Harry, so that he isn’t dragged into the legal battle.

“[The legal battle] puts Harry in direct contact with the people who are carrying out the King’s orders,” royal author Sally Bedell Smith told PEOPLE. “If his father was to say something even seemingly innocuous, it could end up landing in the middle of the court case.”
