Prince Harry Denied Photo Opp With King Charles?

Prince Harry’s recent return to the United Kingdom raised a lot of public interest. And, some media outlets touted it as a big success. However, not everything panned out that way he hoped. Read on to find out more.

Desperate Harry Looking For PR Opps

According to royal commentator Neil Sean, who discussed the trip on his Daily News Headlines vlog on Saturday night, “Harry was desperate, you see, to make sure that the world saw that he’d met with his father one more time.”

Reports from a tabloid magazine and other sources quickly emerged, describing a “tearful reunion” and an emotional embrace. However, Neil dismissed these accounts as a narrative created for public consumption.

Harry Wanted A Photo?

Neil, who often cites well-placed sources, alleged that Harry’s true motive for the meeting was a PR move. According to a “very well-placed source,” Harry went to Clarence House with a mission: he insisted that he needed his phone to get “an up-to-date picture of himself with his father.” Neil reported that this request was allegedly “denied.”

Furthermore, the royal family expert offered an explanation for why the request was turned down. He pointed to the strict royal protocol that governs photography, even in private settings. Neil explained that “you couldn’t just photograph the king” without permission. And you would need an official photographer.

Prince Or Not – No Pics

As an example, Sean reminded his viewers about photos of the late Queen with her great-granddaughter, Lilibet. Allegedly, they “do not exist because her official photographer was not on hand.” A similar protocol applied to the King’s meeting with Harry.

Next, the vlogger suggested the King was particularly cautious, as he’s “still battling his own health issues.” The request, it seemed, suggested that Prince Harry wanted the picture to “cement his meeting” and to provide an image that could be spun into any narrative he desired.

Not The Big Success

When Harry left the meeting, he apparently believed that his encounter with his father was “good enough to let the world know that things were great and they were moving forward.”

However, according to Neil, that wasn’t exactly true. Instead, the meeting was a brief conversation, largely focused on Harry getting permission to travel to Ukraine. Notably, it took place under the “very severe eye of Queen Camila.” Neil concluded that Harry “came away with not exactly the result he was looking for.”

Royal Fans React

In the comments section, many followers agreed that if Prince Harry had gotten a photo of himself with his dad, he might have used it for PR reasons. One of them opined, “If Harry had gotten away with taking a picture with his father, we all know it would have been front and center on all news papers/platforms for money.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion area:

  • The fact that he wanted to do that shows he doesn’t give a damn about his family, it’s all about what it can do for him, how selfish can you get!
  • I’m sure Charles made sure he had witnesses and made double sure that Harry didn’t have recording devices.
  • how miserable it must be to have a child who can not be trusted even by his father.
  • Harry doesn’t care, it’s all about what Harry gets out of it. So sad for Charles.
