Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Believe The Royal Family Conspire Against Them

Real or imagined, it’s been widely known that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle believe that the enormous and efficient Royal Family PR machine is silently working in the shadows to undermine their efforts.

It’s been something that the duo have been outspoken about, whether it’s from their own mouths or through their mouthpieces. For example, when Meghan Markle’s Netflix cooking show flopped critically, sources claimed that the Duchess was convinced the Palace was behind the show’s failure. Is there any truth to this?

According to the authors of ‘Finding Freedom,’ Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the late Queen Elizabeth’s 2019 Christmas broadcast was the catalyst that pushed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to leave their posts as senior royals.

“One didn’t have to look further than the family photos displayed during the Queen’s Speech on Christmas Day. In the Green Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen delivered her address, viewers glimpsed photos of Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children, [King] Charles and [Queen] Camilla, Prince Philip [her husband], and a black-and-white image of George VI [her father],” they wrote. “Noticeably absent was a photo of Harry, Meghan and their new baby, [Prince] Archie.”

However, a Palace source revealed that the Queen only opted to display pictures of family members in “direct line of succession.”

This, of course, is easily deduced, considering that other royals like Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice were absent. But that’s Harry and Meghan logic for ya.

After Harry and Meghan resigned from their roles to travel to America, Queen Elizabeth released an impassioned statement thanking them for their service and particularly hailing Meghan for her speedy adaptation to Royal Family life.

Released by Buckingham Palace, the statement read, “Harry, Meghan and [Prince] Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognize the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life. I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.”
