As many fans of the Duchess know by now, Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle was hospitalized and his leg amputated in an emergency operation. Since then, he’s made pleas to reconcile with Meghan and possibly even meet Harry and their kids before his time runs out. You know who doesn’t think reconciliation comes just like that? Meghan Markle.
Meghan Markle Deleted Her Father’s Number For This Reason
Prior to her disastrous fallout with her father, you’d find no one more willing to praise Thomas Markle than his “peanut” Meghan Markle.
She praised him for his unceasing support for her, and recalled many joyous moments with him. She even promised to stay right behind him through whatever storms life may throw.
44, married and two kids down, and Meghan isn’t ready to sing the same old tired tune. This time, “daddy dearest” would have to make do without her.
“I’ve always said I am open to reconciling with my daughter,” the 81-year-old retired lighting director said after the life-saving operation, adding, “I have never stopped loving her. I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband, too.”
Okay, he wants to meet the kids and Harry, none of whom he’s ever physically met, but according to sources close to Meghan, his request is all but impossible.
According to the source, the Duchess feels that their relationship has fallen to a point where it can’t be repaired. At least she did make the effort to send hin a handwritten letter, though she was reportedly pissed off she didn’t get any response for her efforts.
As for the reason why she sent a letter rather than calling, it’s been understood that Meghan deleted the number of her father in 2018, shortly after his paparazzi stunt came to light.
However, this is not all. Thomas has been pretty critical of Meghan and her husband in recent times too, telling a media outlet that the couple have seemingly turned into “lost souls.”
“I think they’re both turning into lost souls at this point,” he previously told a media outlet. “I don’t know what they’re looking for,” he added. “I don’t think they know what they’re looking for.”
