Meghan Markle has officially revealed her last name, in case we missed it the last time the news surfaced that she, Prince Harry and their two kids have chosen Sussex to be their family name. Here’s what she has to say about the quaint family name.

Meghan Markle Says Sussex Name Is For Our “Little Family”

Meghan Markle wants Mindy Kaling, and the rest of the world probably, to know that her last name is no longer Markle.

During her conversation with the actress and producer, where the latter kept referring to her as Meghan Markle, she low-key snapped, “It’s so funny you keep saying Markle. You know it’s Sussex now.”

She then explained, “You have kids and you go, I share my name with my children. I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me but it just means so much to go, this is our family name. Our little family now.”

This new tidbit of information was gotten from her Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’ – a show that’s received way more negative criticisms than it has gotten praise.

Reiterating this during her interview with PEOPLE, she further said, “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children. I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H, and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”

She then described the Sussex name as “part of our love story.”

Meghan Markle is building her business empire little by little, and while it may seem as if there’s a blockade every step of the way, she’s determined to get to the other side.

Juggling the time-consuming activities that come with growing a business from the ground up while being a mother hasn’t been so easy, but she’s finding herself more and more as the kids get older.

“When your children get to a certain age — when you’re not just playing in the sandbox with them but almost playing in your own sandbox again — it’s super joyful,” she said. “As a woman, a mom and a wife, to be able to find yourself again — in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn’t put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older — is a wonderful feeling.”
