Revelations about Meghan Markle’s time as a working royal surfaced recently. They make for a very different picture from the narrative she promoted. According to insiders close to the late Queen Elizabeth II, Her Majesty had serious concerns about the Duchess of Sussex from the very beginning. And, those concerns that proved justified.

The Queen Gave Meghan Advice?

Royal commentator Neil Sean on his Daily News Headlines claimed this weekend, that the Queen “quickly recognized fundamental issues with Meghan Markle,” despite her claims of wanting to embrace royal life. In an unusual move, the monarch broke protocol by allowing Meghan to continue professional work, even gently suggesting she take a gradual approach.

Allegedly, she talked about how Princess Grace of Monaco regretted leaving acting too soon. However, Meghan allegedly insisted, “No, no, no. This was going to be her new life now—all she really wanted was to be a good wife to Prince Harry and help the monarchy.”

A Relationship Built on Misrepresentation?

The Queen’s skepticism deepened after Meghan’s BBC interview where she spoke about her devotion to royal duty. According to Neil, sources say the monarch saw through the performance, recognizing inconsistencies in Meghan’s stories. One particularly troubling moment came when Meghan later claimed she had been “trapped in Windsor with her passport taken away.”

A palace insider revealed, “The Queen knew these were lies but couldn’t understand why Meghan would say such things. What had the family done to deserve this?” It also didn’t go unnoticed that Meghan Markle had a strained relation ship with her dad, Thomas Markle. The Queen reportedly urged Harry to reconcile with Meghan’s father before the wedding, but Meghan blocked all attempts.

Instead, Prince Charles walked her down the aisle. Actually, in retrospect, many Royal Family fans now believe that it was just another planned effort to increase her status.

Protocol Problems & Palace Tensions

Neil Sean also talked about Meghan Markle’s disregard for royal traditions. And, they only  alienated her from the institution. She allegedly avoided proper curtsies and insisted on calling the Queen “Granny.” Well, it’s not like granny down the road, so allegedly, the monarch felt disrespected.

Allegedly, the way Meghan changed like a  chameleon from day to day upset Queen Elizabeth as well. Neil cited an aide as saying, “She never knew which version of Meghan would show up.”  

Her rivalry with Catherine, Princess of Wales, was another sore point. Jealous of Catherine’s natural elegance and popularity, Meghan reportedly resented being overshadowed. The Queen, observing the tension, allegedly remarked, “The thing with Meghan is you get a whole variety of characters for the price of one.”

A Legacy of Controversy

Neil Sean also talked about how Lady Elizabeth Anson contradicted Meghan’s memoir. So that means the Duchess of Sussex faces more scrutiny. While she may attempt to diss these allegations through future media projects, the damage to her credibility appears lasting. As one insider bluntly put it, “The Queen saw the truth long before the world did.”

Notably, everyone expects Meghan will continue to have her say and tell anyone who cares to listen about her version of events. Meanwhile, Prince Harry seems happy enough to let her diss his family, despite claiming he wants reconciliation.
