Meghan Markle Interrupted Prince Harry’s Proposal to Ask Questions!

British royal family news reveals that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex married in 2018, abandoned the monarchy in 2020 and today live in humiliating irrelevance in Montecito, California.

They have tried to be VIP’s but their nauseating anti-royal stance has gained them what appears to be a permanent place in the dustbin of has-beens and never-weres. As always.

The marriage is Meghan’s second (her third if conspiracy theorists are to be believed) and Ginger Judas’ first. We know how the marriage turned out, but what about the proposal?

Could it be that Meghan’s handling of Harry’s effort serves as an object lesson in their doomed bid to rule the world? Definitely maybe—here’s what to know.

Harry Proposed to Meghan in 2017

One version of Harry’s proposal (the Markles have multiple versions of most events) has him proposing while the two were at his home, Nottingham Cottage, on November 4, 2017.

In his memoir Spare, Harry explains that he set a candle-lit scene on the grass: “I wanted it to look like Botswana, where I’d first thought of proposing.”

Once Harry began his offer of eternal bliss “Meghan interrupted saying: ‘Can I say yes? Can I say yes?’” The thirst is strong with this one.

Harry & Meghan’s Quickie ProposalHarry got permission from the late Queen Elizabeth before approaching Meghan, a rule due to his place in the line of succession.

He wrote in Spare that he told the regent: “Granny, you know I love Meg very much, and I’ve decided that I would like to ask her to marry me, and I’ve been told that, er, that I have to ask your permission before I can propose.”

The Queen’s approval was formalized on March 14, 2018, it was announced in May, and we all know the rest of the story.

The Queen’s Grand Gesture

This point of permission protocol dates to 1772 when the Duke of Cumberland secretly married Lady Anne Horton “a disreputable widow of a commoner.” We know what you’re thinking …
