Meghan Markle Doesn’t Want To Fly Over To See Her Father, Reports Say

Thomas Markle is currently recovering in a hospital in the Philippines, and despite his impassioned plea to his daughter Meghan Markle, the Duchess will reportedly not be budging from her Montecito mansion to see him anytime soon.

Meghan Markle Won’t Be Seeing Her Father After Handing Him Letter From “Reliable Contacts”

According to sources close to the Duchess of Sussex, the 44-year-old will not be flying out to reunite with his father, despite his plea for reconciliation.

The 81-year-old former lighting director was rushed to the hospital on December 2 after falling ill at home. Shortly after, it was revealed that he had his leg amputated in a life-saving operation.

When all this was going on, Markle’s two children from his first marriage publicly expressed their wishes for his speedy recovery.

Thomas Markle Jr. told the MailOnline: “There was no option. I was told the leg had to be removed and it was a case of life or death. My dad is being very brave. His foot turned blue and then black. It happened very quickly. I took him to a local hospital and they did some scans and an ultrasound and said the leg had to be amputated.”

Markle’s oldest child, Samantha, wrote, “He is a strong man, but he has been through so much. I am praying that he is strong enough to survive this.”

Whilst in recovery, Markle reached out to media outlets and talked about his condition. He, in addition to his two eldest children, pleaded with Meghan to reach out.

After a series of misunderstandings – like when Meghan wrote to a defunct email causing Thomas not to receive her message– the former American actress finally managed to get a handwritten letter into her father’s hands through “reliable and trusted contacts.”

Now that the letter is safely in her father’s hands, Meghan reportedly feels that her job is done. In her own opinion, her relationship with her father is so far lost as to try to salvage it. The Duchess did after all delete his number as early 2018.

Unless something significantly changes, Markle’s wishes for reconciliation and a chance to meet Prince Harry and the kids will go unanswered.
