Kyle Chrisley, the eldest son of Todd Chrisley and Teresa Terry, is once again surrounded by legal woes shortly before the holidays. The police arrested him in Rutherford County, Tennessee, on December 20, 2025.
What Was The Arrest For?
It took no time for the charges to pile up. Apart from domestic assault, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, the list also included retaliation and assault on a first responder. Unfortunately, it seems like it’s is just another installment in a long troubled true crime history.

The case is still ongoing, and Kyle was reportedly booked and remaines in custody pending proceedings, per TMZ. The website wrote that officers were called to a location where it all went down.
No Stranger To Legal Problems
In fact, Kyle isn’t a stranger to legal troubles. Over time, he encountered the law more than once. For instance, in 2013 he was taken into police custody soon after his daughter Chloe’s birth. After that, the court granted Julie and Todd Chrisley custody of the child.
Next, in 2016, more family issues arose and allegedly involved his partner at the time, although the details are not fully known. Finally, Kyle confessed that he was having a difficult time and he separated himself from his family for quite a long time.
More Problems & A Lawsuit
Even so, the series of events didn’t stop. In 2023, police apprehended Kyle once more due to an incident at his job. Authorities alleged that during the altercation, Kyle Chrisley drew a knife on his supervisor.
After posting a bond of $3,000, he was released from custody. In the end, the prosecutor dismissed the case, though no one knows the reason because it was never spoken of publicly.
Later, in 2024, Kyle and his spouse retaliated. They brought a $1.7 million lawsuit against Rutherford County as well as two sheriff’s deputies. The couple’s suit charges the officers with false arrest and use of excessive force. At the time, Wesley Clark, the lawyer for Kyle, claimed that deputy officers took out frustration on his client because of his family’s notoriety.
Still Estranged
Although Kyle and his dad, the patriarch of Chrisley Knows Best, did reunite briefly after an alleged suicide attempt, they fell out again over his father’s court testimony for fraud and tax evasion. He since hoped for reunification after Donald Trump pardoned Todd and Julie earlier this year.
What people do know is his half-sister, Savannah accused both Lindsie Chrisley and Kyle of helping to get her mom and dad incarcerated. Probably, Todd will be upset hearing about yet another bad incident involving his family as he tries to rebuild his life.
Chrisley Knows Best Followers Respond
People within the Reddit community rapidly responded to the news about Kyle’s most recent arrest. One user commenting on the incident said, “Trashbag. No wonder he can’t even take care of his own daughter.”
Other users posted, “I simply am not surprised,” and “He does this because he knows that he will get away with it just like his father. The whole lot think that they are above the law.”
Another Redditor remarked, “Let’s not forget he is out on bond while we talk.” Lastly, one user put it this way: “Todd’s father was incarcerated for a very long time, Todd was a felon, and his son Kyle has been in and out of trouble for years.”
