General Hospital stars Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) want fans to get ready for changes happening for the show despite casting shakeups.
As fans know, two casting shockers occurred. Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky) left the show nine months after his return.
Fans weren’t happy that the actor decided to leave General Hospital after his much-hyped return. It left the audience wondering what was going to happen on the show.
His departure wasn’t the only surprise. Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) is back on the show after being gone for over two years. Her character died on the show.
According to the actors, good things are happening on General Hospital. Fans shouldn’t be concerned about what’s happening to the long-running soap. Burton and Anderson talked on their podcast, That’s Awesome about the upcoming storylines.
Two stories in particular are heating up. Michael’s (Rory Gibson) return, and the revelation that Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) son. They aren’t the only stories heating up. Michael and Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) custody battle is far from over.
Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) involvement in the custody battle changed things for Willow. He will do whatever it takes to help her. Brook Lynn and Dante want to make things right with Gio, but he’s not ready to forgive and forget.
The writers are building up the storyline with Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Sonny (Maurice Benard). Sidwell wants to take over Sonny’s property in Port Charles.
Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Cody (Josh Kelly) are working together to break up Ava (Maura West) and Ric (Rick Hearst).
According to Burton and Anderson, fans should get ready for the exciting stories. There are a lot of stories happening. The writers are wrapping up stories while starting others. Burton said that the show isn’t just focusing on one storyline.
The writers are concentrating on multiple arcs for the show. Usually there’s one major story with substories to round it out. This time around all the stories are major stories.
Burton feels that there are good stories involving different people and storylines that are interchanging. The families are involved in main storylines.
Bradford and Burton credit the writers for the changes in the new stories. Steve Burton believes the writers found their footing. Bradford added that the episodes being filmed now and what has aired throughout the past couple of weeks is a turn for General Hospital.
He referred to it as a beat change and advised fans to enjoy the ride. The guys believe things are heating up, and the summer will only make things hotter in Port Charles.
Fans should enjoy the changes that the writers have in store for the show. Everyone will want to tune in to see what’s going on with the characters.
