GH Spoilers: Ric Joins The Dark Side To Protect Sonny In The Wake Of Their Reconnection?

General Hospital Spoilers: Will Ric Join The Dark Side To Protect Sonny In The Wake Of Their Reconnection?General Hospital Spoilers spill Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) are historically enemies more than anything else.

They certainly have never behaved as brothers. But suddenly, that’s where we’re at. Sonny and Ric seem to have some mutual interest in burying the hatchet, and I’m here for it.

These two have been at each others’ throats ever since Ric first came to town nearly 25 years ago.

It’s time to move forward, and I can’t think of a better space and time in Sonny’s life for him to need some extra family to rely on. Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) isn’t the ally she once was, even though she’ll never turn on the guy.

Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has a larger priority now being the sole parent to Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn). Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) is all grown up with her own problems. Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) isn’t quite the saint he used to be, but he’s no mobster either. Maybe Ric is both savvy enough and dark enough to take on the risks of Sonny’s underworld.

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny is Under Fire

Sonny’s problems are mounting. It surprised many fans that he let Ric defend Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr). It surprises us further that they’re sharing late-night drinks together and trying to mend fences after all this time.

In some ways, it makes me worry that GH is starting to gently set the stage for Benard to retire in the coming years. He did imply in a recent interview that such a time may only be a few years away for him.

As for Sonny, he still doesn’t have anyone to take over the business, and now not only is his grandson in trouble, but he and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) are too.

There’s no better time for him to find someone else with legal savvy in his corner, especially with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) currently out of the picture.

GH Spoilers Gossip Family Ties Sure Do Bind

Ric was right square in the middle of a family blackmail scheme in the making like we’ve never seen. When Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) showed up ticked off at his dad, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) wasn’t far behind.

Emma Scorpio Drake (Bradyn Bruner) and Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) committing a break-in and taking all the dogs from Professor Henry ‘Hank’ Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) lab just seemed to fall into Ric’s lap.

He witnessed the whole thing, including Gio and Emma’s confessions, Rocco becoming an accomplice after the fact when he was out on bail as it is, Dante choosing not to report it despite being the PCPD’s Acting Police Commissioner, and Sonny overseeing every minute. Ric could do some damage with that fiasco, but will he?

General Hospital Spoilers — Is Ric’s Olive Branch Genuine?

So far, it seems Ric is claiming he has seen the light and wants to put his differences with Sonny to bed. To be honest, they’ve never made much sense anyway.

Ric has always acted high and mighty as though he doesn’t agree with Sonny’s line of work because he breaks the law, but Ric himself has done so about a gazillion times and somehow has retained his law license.

Behind all of the jabs at his big brother mob boss was a half-brother who felt abandoned by their mother in favor of Sonny. Has he really made peace with that, or is he biding his time and earning his way into Sonny’s inner circle to collect dirt?

Once he gets it, will he use it to bury his brother, or will he dig in and get his hands dirty too? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
