And that’s not just because Maxie had a dramatic medical crisis that resulted in a heart attack and coma. But it’s also because no one knows if the actress will be back on the show anytime soon.

Back in October, Kirsten explained on Instagram that she was all set to undergo surgery for an aneurysm. While it’s pretty clear that the mother-of-one is taking a break from her career due to health reasons, a lot of people still can’t help but wonder if she’ll ever return to General Hospital.

And while Kirsten made it very clear that she wasn’t leaving General Hospital or the daytime television world, it was hinted that she would be back on the canvas sometime in December.

Well, several months have gone by and it doesn’t look like Maxie Jones is part of any upcoming storylines.

Instead, Kirsten has been enjoying her new life in Nashville and has also started a new business. She is now selling sweaters online with her best friend and former General Hospital co-star, Emme Rylan.

What’s Really Going On With Kirsten Storms?

If that weren’t enough, Kirsten was forced to also slam an online hater while she was at it. The actress was so upset that someone had written a blog post about it that she decided to set the record straight with her own words. Clearly, there was no truth to the rumor at all.

The actress took to her Instagram account to write, “I wanted to post this because even though my brain seems to be sorta lowkey rebelling against me, it does allow me to understand that we’ve all got times when things aren’t great.”

She then continued, “If we can, we will do our best to do what is best for ourselves and loved ones. Since I knew what an aneurysm was, the scan in January majorly freaked me out. A few days after I was discharged from the hospital, someone created a blog post that said I was in the hospital that weekend because I tried to unalive myself. I couldn’t understand why a person would make up something that terrible, when they had no idea why I was really there.”

Now, whether or not Kirsten Storms does come back in 2026 remains to be seen, but so far the actress has not made any comments about the matter just yet. That said, there’s still heavy speculation suggesting she’s going to have some major contract changes.
