Christmas Day is about love and peace, but a gesture of kindness went horribly wrong in Lindenhurst, Long Island, Suffolk County. Edeedson Cine Jr. lost his life when he volunteered to do a shift for a co-worker. Read on for the sad details.

The Death Of Kind Young Man

Edeedson, AKA “Eddy” worked for a friend at CVS on Christmas Day, but his generosity ended up his downfall. Sadly, the 23-year-old was the victim of a true crime when John Pilaccio (43) robbed the place.

The incident involved a stabbing, and Pilaccio lashed out at Eddy, fatally wounding him. Rushed to hospital, unfortunately, he couldn’t be saved. Obviously, his family is heartbroken, because his kind gesture, that was apparently typical of him, ended in a dreadful tragedy.

A Fundraiser

Eddy, who had been working near the pharmacy counter, was loved by his co-workers and the local community. So, the family started a GoFundMe for him. Within a day, they raised $20K, and now, it’s over $80K and heading to a target of $100K to help the family and with expenses.

One kind person donated $5000, but plenty of others gave what they could. Vanessa Cine, who runs the fundraiser, updated on December 27, saying:

We are in utter awe at the willingness of so many to help and touch a family that they don’t know personally. In the midst of tragedy, It’s a reminder that humanity and community still exist. We cannot put into words or measure our gratitude. Thank you. May god bless each and every one of you. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Suspect Arrested & In Court

When News 12 updated the story, they reported that John Pilaccio was arrested and charged with second degree murder. Apparently, he robbed the place because he was short of cash. Cecilia Dowd, who reported from the courtroom, noted that the two men didn’t know each other. So, Pilaccio didn’t seem to care who he killed for the money.
