The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers and updates reveal there are four compelling reasons for Thomas Forrester ( Matthew Atkinson) to make a comeback, even if it requires a new actor.
His presence is essential to the storyline, so let’s explore the reasons for his return in any capacity.
Thomas And Paris Buckingham’s Wedding Never Happened
To begin with, Thomas and Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) were in the midst of planning their wedding, which has yet to occur-the ball has been dropped on that.
The storyline in has left this aspect unresolved, meaning Thomas may either tie the knot with Paris or face heartbreak if the engagement falters.
We lean towards the latter scenario, as it would open the door for Thomas to explore other romantic pursuits – potentially even rekindling a connection with someone he knows.
A lot of this would depend upon how Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) storyline plays out, and whether he gets a last minute miracle or if he dies from his inoperable brain tumor.
Both Thomas’ former obsession-lover and his sister would need Thomas back in the storyline.
It Looks Like Hope Will Soon Be In Mourning
If the CBS soap opera is truly pushing Liam toward his demise, Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) is on the verge of experiencing deep sorrow.
Bringing Douglas Forrester (Henry Samiri) back to Los Angeles for some family time with his mother is a logical move for Thomas.
Furthermore, he might wish to offer solace to Hope, which could pave the way for a new romantic relationship, after some grieving time, of course.
Should Thomas come back from Paris unattached, it would facilitate his efforts to rekindle his bond with Hope during her time of loss.
Having Douglas back in her life would be a comfort as well, especially after he rejected her and had seemingly bonded to Paris.
Steffy Will Need Thomas’ Support
Undoubtedly, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) could greatly benefit from her brother’s support as she faces the aftermath of Liam’s tragic fate and the impending chaos caused by Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada).
Thomas and Steffy share a deep bond, making it all the more appealing to witness that connection re-emerge on-screen.
Nothing has been indicated in the show whether Thomas even knows about the chaos that has taken place since he left.
Thomas doesn’t apparently know that Luna is John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) daughter or even that she killed two men connected to Il Giardino.
He doesn’t know Steffy was locked in a cage and she could have died, thanks to Luna, or even that his half-brother RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) was dating her!
Taylor And Ridge Could Be Remarrying
There are signs of engagement between Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye); Eric Forrester (John McCook) feels Ridge hasn’t fully committed to Taylor since he hasn’t proposed yet.
Ridge might see this as a challenge and decide to ask Taylor to marry him, which could lead to their wedding; it would be nice if Thomas could attend the ceremony.
If Ridge and Taylor plan to remarry, we hope Thomas can be part of the event. Even if Matthew Atkinson doesn’t reprise his role, Thomas is a key character who has been played by different actors. The show might cast someone new in the role, so keep an eye out for casting updates.
