Y&R Spoilers: Ashley’s Alters Explained, Eileen Davidson Talks DID Storyline

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) clearly has other personalities.

However, Ahsley’s loved ones don’t realize what’s going on yet, although they are very worried. In a new interview, actress Eileen Davidson discussed Ashley’s dissociative identity disorder (DID) storyline. The actress also named a few of Ashley’s alters and dropped a hint about the character’s fate.

Y&R spoilers reveal that Ashley and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) got married. Once they were in Paris, Ashely began having a change of heart.

Tucker exploded and scared Ashley, which is where the mental health storyline kicked off. In an interview with Stephanie Sloane, TV Guide magazine’s “SoapDish” explained,

“… I happened to mention Ashley’s mental health issues [from the 80s]. He [head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith] remembered and got really inspired by that. So, it was an offhand conversation about the character that tied in beautifully with what he’d already been writing.”

Even though Tucker didn’t get violent in Paris as Ashley claimed, his actions were still explosive. Tucker’s reaction could have scared Ashley so much that it actually brought her alters out.

Moving forward, Ashley has a few different personalities. Fans have seen a domineering and protective older woman.

There is another who seems to be a little girl or perhaps a teenager. The actress actually dropped names for these altars, well, sort of.

There is “Ash,” who we are assuming is young Ashley. Then, there is Ms. Abbott, who Davidson described as an older, protective woman. Davidson admitted that there is a third alter to be revealed… but didn’t provide a name or describe him/her.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Davidson explained that these alters are vastly different from one another and even Ashley. The actress also hinted that the alters could be sticking around for a while.

“If I walk by the TV and I happen to be on, I absolutely know who it is just by the way she’s looking. It takes a lot of concentration. It makes my head hurt because it’s Ashley and then, sometimes mid-scene, I’m becoming the altar, so I’m starting off as one and ending up as another who’s talking to someone else in her head.”

That suggests we could continue seeing Ashley’s alters for at least a few more weeks.

Y&R Spoilers – Intense Intervention

Ashley’s spiraling behavior will spark a family intervention. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will be there for Ashley.

There might even be an appearance by Tucker. Although he might have caused this and is an enemy of the Abbott family, Ashley’s condition is just too unpredictable and dangerous.

“That [the family intervention” is intense because it’s at a very high decibel. It’s Ms. Abbott and she’s fighting for her life and the gloves are off.”
