One fan brought up the extravagant rate on Reddit. The user FedUp0000 wanted to know how much a two-night stay would cost in May. They claimed that her Airbnb is overpriced just like Meri’s bed-and-breakfast.

“The two-night stay in her ‘retreat’ would have cost $931 plus $140 cleaning fee plus $151 Airbnb fee. That’s $1,222 BEFORE. Taxes. And you still have to cook your own food and clean [SIC],” the user noted.

However, Christine Brown’s Airbnb listing suggests that guests don’t have to do chores. Sister Wives fans noted they can get a five-star stay for an entire weekend in the same area. Christine is in over her head with her extravagant Airbnb rate.

One user noted: “Exactly why hotels are coming back in a big way… For that price, give me a pool, a lounge chair, a spa, and some morning room service.”

Another user wrote: “I rather spend money at an upscale hotel for a few nights than go to an Airbnb but that’s just me.”

A third fan commented: “I agree that I personally think it’s an insane waste of money and I wouldn’t pay it, but if people are booking at that price, it’s their own fault. She can laugh all the way to the bank lmao.”

People are paying for the experience. They’re also paying for the bragging rights to say they stayed at Christine Brown’s retreat. What are your thoughts on her Airbnb business? Do you think it’s doomed to fail? Sound off below in the comment section.
