Sarah Ferguson Diagnosed With Skin Cancer

The Duchess Of York has confirmed reports that she just received a diagnosis of skin cancer, per Us.  And Sarah Ferguson revealed that she received her diagnosis amid reconstructive surgery after her mastectomy.

A spokesperson for the Duchess of York explained, “Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma.” And the representative also revealed that Sarah’s dermatologist requested to remove and analyze several moles amid the Duchess of York’s reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy.

As a result of that request, “one of these has been identified as cancerous,” added the spokesperson. And the representative for Sarah also revealed that she currently faces an investigation to determine if her medical team made the new diagnosis “in the early stages.”

Duchess Of York Receives ‘Distressing’ Diagnosis

However, Sarah’s spokesperson admitted, “Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing. But the Duchess remains in good spirits,” added the rep. “The Duchess wants to thank the entire medical team [who] has supported her, particularly her dermatologist whose vigilance ensured the illness was detected when it was. She believes her experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, color and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma.”

And Sarah currently begins her recuperation at the MAYRLIFE clinic in Austria. The Duchess of York’s medical news comes after her announcement in June 2023 that she received a diagnosis of an early form of breast cancer and underwent surgery.

“The Duchess is receiving the best medical care and her doctors have told her that the prognosis is good,” said her representative after her breast cancer surgery. She is now recuperating with her family. The Duchess wants to express her immense gratitude to all the medical staff who have supported her in recent days.”

But the Duchess of York added that after receiving her diagnosis of breast cancer, “I beat breast cancer.” Sarah shares two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, with her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

However, neither Beatrice, 35, nor Eugenie, 33, discussed the latest news about their mother. But Beatrice is the patron of the British Skin Foundation and has previously worked with skin cancer patients.
