Queen Camilla To Receive New Title Days After King Charles’ Diagnosis

For some days now, Queen Camilla has been holding her own as the only working senior royal, that is, until she was joined by Prince William last Wednesday.

When King Charles was to be hospitalized for his enlarged prostate, it was revealed that he would not need to deputize counsellors of state because he wasn’t going to be out of action for long.

However, the discovery of growing cancerous cells in the King’s body has left doubts as to whether he’ll be fit to return anytime soon.

At the moment, no one knows the type of cancer the King has been diagnosed with, though Prime Minister Rishi Sunak did assure us that it was discovered in its earliest stage.

Queen Camilla – To Receive New Title From One of Her Patronages

While the King continues to receive regular treatment, Queen Camilla is set to be handed a new title. She will become ‘Honorary Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers’ at an installation ceremony on 13 February.

So as the King pauses his “public-facing duties” on advise of his medical team, Queen Camilla will have to step up as one of the handful of royals still able to perform their duties.

Next week, the Queen will attend the installation ceremony at Clarence House, alongside the Duchess of Gloucester, who was installed as a liveryman too back in 2005.

Dating back to 1670, the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers gained royal recognition in 1709. At the ceremony, Camilla will get to meet with representatives of the Fan Museum, of which she has been a royal patron since 2008.

For the ceremony, Camilla will be clothed in honorary liveryman attire, and receive a special fan that was commissioned to “mark the impact of Covid-19 on so many lives.” Couture British fashion designer Stewart Parvin designed the piece.

As for the King’s health, Queen Camilla happily revealed in one of her recent engagements that the King is doing “extremely well under the circumstances.” She revealed that the public’s messages of support has truly warmed the King’s heart, encouraging him on on his road to recovery.
