Prince Harry’s Return To The UK For Invictus Games Could Make The Royal Family Look “Churlish”

Prince Harry's Return To The UK For Invictus Games Could Make The Royal Family Look “Churlish”In May, Prince Harry will direct his steps towards the UK for a special Invictus Games anniversary service.

At the moment, though Meghan is penciled in as TBC, it’s been said she’s likely not to accompany her husband for the event.

However, whether Meghan is there or not, the Royal Family still faces a difficult situation.

They either decide to put the rift aside and honor the sporting event which gives veterans a chance to be part of something beautiful or risk being “churlish.” The ball is in their court.

Prince Harry’s 2027 Invictus Games Could Happen At Birmingham

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games 10-year anniversary could well go unmarked by members of the Royal Family, and if it is, royal editor Victoria Ward has opined that it would make them look “churlish.”

Ward said that “a lack of support for the competitors from senior royals would look churlish.”

However, Palace sources have always maintained that the royals don’t often entangle themselves in another’s profession pursuits.

Speaking of professional pursuits, we mean organizations like Prince William’s Earthshot Prize and Princess Kate’s Early Childhood Foundation.

A Royal source was once quoted: “Prince William and Catherine always supported Harry’s efforts to establish Invictus. They are delighted that it has been a success.”

The UK is reportedly bidding with the US to host the games in 2027. If the UK were to win the bid, it would put the Royal Family in an uncomfortable position, as they would have to be forced to pay tribute to the veterans or risk looking ungracious.

But there’s still a long ways to go before that happens so the rift might have ended, or at least subsided, by then. I mean, Harry and Meghan seem to have moved on from airing their royal grudges, and frankly, I don’t think there’s much more they can share.

Let’s also not forget that Prince William and Princess Kate played a pivotal role in the founding of Invictus, with their then joint Royal Foundation injecting substantial funds into the initiative.
