Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Join Forces With “Hollywood Power Players” To Fight Election Misinformation

The election year is always a flurry of information and emotions, mingled with hate speech. As the country prepares to head back to the polls for the most important and defining election, Harry and Meghan have found it necessary to lend their support in bid to fend off misinformation.

Per a newly published report, the couple are “working to prepare US voters for a possible deepfake onslaught.”

On the website, it states: “A bipartisan coalition with support from Hollywood power players and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation is working to prepare US voters for a possible deepfake onslaught as the campaign year goes into high gear.”

The November 5 election is expected to be a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

As a result of the strong contention between red and blue party supporters that will likely keep heightening as November 5 draws nearer, experts are already predicting that both “malicious state actors and domestic political operatives” will use deepfake tech and media manipulation to baffle voters ahead of the election.

To cope and minimize the effects of this, Google, Meta and OpenAI have reportedly aligned. Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Organization is also lending resources and expertise to finding a solution to the problem.

Since stepping down from their roles as senior royals, the couple has not scrupled to wade into US politics, even though royals are often advised to steer clear.

In 2020, the pair released a video urging Americans to sign up and vote and reject misinformation.

In the video, Harry advised voters to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”

Meghan added that the then-upcoming election was the “most important election in our lifetime,” as she urged Americans to use their power to vote to create the change they want and believe in.
