Prince Harry’s Friend Had This To Say About King Charles Being Too Busy To See His Son

When the announcement was made that Harry would be traveling back to the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Invictus Games, speculations abounded that this would be a time for the father and son to reunite and further heal the rift between them.

Lo and behold, as time drew nearer, the world was shocked with the news that the King was simply too busy to see his son. This may or may not have influenced Harry’s decision to turn down staying at a royal residence during his brief UK visit, but his friends are not happy about the development.

Friend of Charles Says “Recollections May Vary” After Harry’s Friend Criticizes King For Not Making Time For Harry

Who’s right and who’s wrong? It depends on which camp you support. Recently, experts praised the King for choosing duty over personal matters, but some are choosing to see it another way.

Harry’s friend has chosen to see it another way. “Could His Majesty not have made a request to see his son? It was widely known he was coming,” the friend said.

Well, Harry traveled to the UK because he wanted to celebrate his charity Invictus Game’s milestone and not necessarily because he wanted to see his father. If their diaries clashed, okay.

“It’s all very sad,” said a friend of Charles, according to The Times. “While he was hardly going to roll out the red carpet the moment this Invictus trip was announced, with doctors advising him to focus on his treatment and recovery, the idea that he refused to find space in his diary…Well, let’s say recollections may vary once again.”

This means that Harry has only had one face-to-face meeting with his father since his cancer diagnosis.

Happily, the King is doing much better these days after receiving treatments, though he did recently admit that there were side effects to the treatments, like losing one’s sense of taste.

On Monday, King Charles handed the role of the colonel in chief of the Army Air Corps to his son and heir Prince William just as Harry’s tour of Nigeria wrapped up.
