DOOL Spoilers: Emily O’Brien Left “Speechless” With Daytime Emmy Nomination

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Emily O’Brien Left “Speechless” With Daytime Emmy NominationDays of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers note that Emily O’Brien has certainly brought the drama in Salem, first playing Gwen Rizczech on the soap, and then stepping into the role of legacy character, Theresa Donovan.

It’s no surprise that she was recently announced as a 2024 Daytime Emmy nominee in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress, still the entire thing has left her “speechless”.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – It’s Been Far Too Long

Emily O’Brien recently sat down with Soaps.com to talk about her Daytime Emmy nomination.

She notes that this is the first time in 15 years that she’s received a nod, as she was given a series of Daytime Emmy nominations (Outstanding Younger Actress category) when she played Jana Hawkes on the Young and the Restless.

As she’s been on DOOL for four years now, she didn’t think a Daytime Emmy nod was in her future again.

After all, much to the surprise of Emily and Days fans, this year’s nomination is for her work as Gwen, not Theresa.

DOOL Spoilers – This Time Around, It’s “Special”

O’Brien tells Soaps.com that being nominated is an “incredible feeling” that is still sinking in. She adds that she’s so “grateful” over it all, especially being nominated with fellow Salemite and friend, Linsey Godfrey (Sarah Horton); interestingly enough, the very same woman Gwen fought over Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) for! Off-screen, Emily says she has such respect for Godfrey, and thinks she’s an “incredible actress”.

The scenes from Emily’s Daytime Emmy reel submission that won her the nomination were when Gwen tells Xander she’s tired of being used and when she goes off on bestie Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) for “stealing” her man, Dimitri Von Leuschner (Peter Porte).

Both clips reveal a heartbroken Gwen, who sadly never truly experienced happiness in Salem. O’Brien states that being nominated for a Daytime Emmy “feels great” and is “enough of a win” for her. She adds that she’s really shocked, grateful, and speechless.
