Darcey and Stacey Silva have finally opened up about why they use filters and Photoshop for their Instagram posts. As fans know, Darcey and Stacey Silva have their own 90 Day Fiancé spinoff where they reveal their lives and relationship troubles. Previous to that, the 48-year-old Connecticut twins starred in season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.

All along, the TLC reality stars have had disastrous relationships with younger men. However, they are also known for their almost constant plastic surgeries. Each time, the sisters undergo identical treatments, to ensure that they are still identical twins.

However, despite the fact they are happy with their many and various treatments, the sisters are known for their extensive use of Photoshop and filters in their Instagram posts. Fans have often asked Darcey and Stacey why they still do this even after spending thousands of dollars on cosmetic treatments.

Finally, the self-professed “filter queens” have opened up about why their use filters. In an interview with ET, Melicia Johnson recalled a matchmaker named Michelle that Darcey visited on a recent episode of season 4 of Darcey & Stacey. At that time, the matchmaker called out Darcey for using filters to hide her age. In fact, they said how filters can get addictive. Darcey replied, saying:

I just think it’s something that we do for social media, it’s fun, you know it’s my Instagram page, my social media pages.

In fact, she went on to say she doesn’t mind having a “filter or two” because it’s just for fun.

It isn’t like fans don’t see Darcey & Stacey as they are right now on reality TV. On camera, fans see the twins in their vulnerable state without any kind of filters and even without makeup. Speaking of this, Stacey said: “A filter is kind of like you see more of that airbrushed flawless look.”

Darcey added the words, “There’s definitely no shame in our games,” while Stacey cheered her on, dubbing themselves the “filter queens.”
