Why Prince Andrew Won’t Be Stripped Of Titles Despite Being A Perpetual Embarrassment

The whole nation, and perhaps the world, may wish Prince Andrew to stay out of the public eye, but he’s got his own plans.

Maybe the Newsnight interview was unnecessary and a disaster, but what’s done is done. He’s lost his role as a working member of the Royal Family, and while he still lives comfortably enough, he no longer benefits from the royal grant.

However, some people would love it if he dropped his HRH title, which he can now only use in private, and exit the Order of the Garter – the UK’s most senior order of chivalry – but well, he’s not complying. Above all, royal expert Richard Palmer believes the King won’t strip him of his titles for this reason.

King Charles Wouldn’t Want To Publicly Shame His Brother Prince Andrew

With Netflix’s “Scoop” reincarnating Andrew’s most cringy moment on TV, discussion as to the royal’s future within and outside the Monarchy is making the rounds on the internet.

In his latest chat with The Sun’s Matt Wilkinson, expert Richard Palmer called Andrew a “perpetual embarrassment” to the Royal Family.

As to why King Charles hasn’t stripped him of his titles following public disgrace, Palmer said: “I’m not sure about the legal process of it. I imagine that it’s possible but I think that would be very difficult for him to so publicly shame his brother like that.”

He added: “I can’t see it happening but of course Andrew’s situation is a perpetual embarrassment for the king and the entire family.”

Is there any miracle on earth that can bring Prince Andrew back into the public’s graces, now or in the future?

Culture and brand expert Nick Ede doesn’t think so.

Nick said: “There is no way back for him. I think you know this perpetual idea that he could still be back. Nobody cares. He hasn’t got fans.”

He added: “There’s nobody out there who’s going ‘We want to see Prince Andrew’, not one single person. I think he has to realise that. But I think it’s going to take a long, long time for him to actually understand. It’s very deluded.”

He then advised the Prince to “just live a quiet live.” “In my opinion, the best thing that he could do is just enjoy his life. He’s got gorgeous daughters. He has a great relationship with Fergie, he has a lovely house,” he concluded.
