Starring Jennifer Garner, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Angourie Rice, The Last thing He Told Me has taken viewers by storm.

Apple TV+ released the first two episodes of the drama series The Last Thing He Told Me on April 14. Meanwhile, the finale of the limited series aired on Friday, May 19, 2023. While streaming on the platform, the series has become the most-watched limited series ever to stream on Apple TV+ since its launch in 2019.

Since its launch in 2019, Apple TV+ has streamed some excellent drama and science fiction series. However, their latest limited series, The Last Thing He Told Me has done exceptionally well for the streamer. In fact, it is the most-watched limited series ever on the streamer.

According to Variety, Nielsen data revealed that the show had reached 4.5 million unique viewers in its first 31 days of streaming. This beats out other excellent limited series and other drama shows, including Black Bird (2.6 million viewers), Slow Horses (1.9 million viewers), Echo (1.4 million viewers) and the exciting time travel drama, Shining Girls (1.3 million).

Moreover, the premiere double episode reached 3.4 million viewers, thus being the most-watched drama episode of 2023 so far. Since that date, every episode has been viewed by more than one million viewers in its first 31 days.

If that isn’t enough, The Last Thing he Told Me is also the No. 3 title on Apple TV+ of 2023, beat out only by comedy series, Ted Lasso and Shrinking.

Based on the book of the same name by Laura Dave, the series tells the story of Owen Michaels (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who is about to be arrested for securities fraud. However, he vanishes, leaving his new wife, Hannah (Jennifer Garner) to care for his teenage daughter, Bailey (Angourie Rice).

When Hannah tries to track him down, she discovers that “Owen Michaels” has never existed. In fact, she has been married to the man for a year and doesn’t even know his real name.

According to IMDb, other cast members include Aisha Tyler as Jules Nichols, Augusto Aguilera as Grady Bradford and John Harlan Kim as Bobby Park.

The limited series is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and 20th Television. Moreover, the series based on Laura Dave’s novel of the same name that stayed on the New York Times’ bestseller list for more than a year after its release in 2021.

Dave co-created the series along with her husband, showrunner Josh Singer, known for writing movies such as The Post, Spotlight and First Man. The couple executive produces the series along with Garner, Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine’s Lauren Neustadter.
