Coming to Paramount+ this month, Special Ops: Lioness is based on a real-life CIA program and has a highly talented cast. As always, Taylor Sheridan has booked top Hollywood stars for his latest new series, including Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldaña, Morgan Freeman and more. Taylor Sheridan’s Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount+

What with Yellowstone, its prequels and Tulsa King, Taylor Sheridan makes one hit series after another. He also attracts top talent to his shows, including Kevin Costner, Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. His latest outing is Special Ops: Lioness, a series based on a real-life CIA program and starring Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Zoe Saldaña and more.

Based on a real-life CIA program, Lioness tells the story of two agents in an undercover female operative program. Nicole Kidman stars as Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA’s Senior Supervisor who has enjoyed a long career in the political game. She has to juggle being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community with being a wife.

Zoe Saldaña is in the role of Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives. Moreover, both actresses are also executive producers for the series.

Meanwhile, Dave Annable, who played John Dutton’s eldest son Lee in Yellowstone is starring as Joe’s husband, Neil. Keeping with the Yellowstone universe, LaMonica Garrett from 1883 is starring as CIA operative Tucker. Actor James Jordan stars as CIA operative Two Cups and has previously been seen in 1883, Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown.

Moreover, Hallmark Channel star Jill Wagner stars in the series and also as an executive producer. Laysla De Oliveira plays Cruz Manuelos, a rough-around-the-edges young Marine recruited to join the Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.

Top Hollywood star Morgan Freeman plays the role of US Secretary of State, Edwin Mullins. Meanwhile, Jill Wagner stars as Bobby, a CIA Special Activities Division operative. Dave Annable plays the role of Neil, Joe’s husband and the father of their two daughters. LaMonica Garrett plays Tucker, an experienced CIA Special Activities Division operative on Joe’s team. Moreover, James Jordan plays Two Cups, an experienced CIA operative on Joe’s team.

Actor Michael Kelly plays a recurring role as Bryon Westfield in the series. Austin Hébert is in the role of Randy, a tech specialist in charge of surveillance. Meanwhile, Jonah Wharton plays Tex, another member of Joe’s team. Stephanie Nur plays Aaliyah, the daughter of a billionaire businessman with ties to terrorism.

Sam Asghari will guest star as Kamal, an inveterate, unapologetic womanizer. Hannah Love Lanier plays Kate, one of Joe and Neil’s daughters. Meanwhile, Adam Budron guest stars as Sami, part of a group of wealthy friends. Also guest starring is Carla Mansour as Malika, one of Kamal’s numerous exes. Martin Donovan is in a recurring role as Errol Meade, Kaitlyn’s husband and a smart financial wheeler-dealer.

When does Special Ops: Lioness premiere?

As noted by Parade, Special Ops: Lioness will premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday, July 23 with a double episode and thereafter, episodes will drop weekly each Sunday. Watch the latest trailer here:
