Chrisley Family News – When Did Savannah Chrisley Attempt Suicide?

Chrisley Family news reveals that, according to Celebuzz, Savannah Chrisley is getting real about the difficulties in her past. But, in addition to opening up about that, the Chrisley Knows Best veteran is also sharing why her family concealed some of their darkest moments.

“In my teenage years, I tried committing suicide, and it was due to, I mean, a multitude of things, but also the things people would say,” the former Growing Up Chrisley star shared on her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley.

Savannah Chrisley’s Bout With Peer Pressure

Savannah shared that she had had a difficult time with the judgment she received when her weight fluctuated due to her battle with endometriosis. “I’ve always been a thin person. Being on TV, you’re like, ‘I need to look perfect at all hours.’ And I started this medication,” she revealed, adding, “I literally gained, like, 30, 40 pounds in like three months because of my endometriosis, and people would just come at me, like, ‘It looks like you ate yourself,’ ‘It looks like you ate one too many cheeseburgers.’”

“I was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ And there were so many times to where I just kept running and running and running, and then you get to a point, you’re like, ‘I can’t run anymore, and I also can’t deal with feeling how I feel,’” Savannah recalled during the Unlocked podcast.

Savannah Chrisley – Enters Therapy

The Sassy by Savannah mogul went on to add that her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley had swept things under the rug. “We hid it so well. Producers didn’t know. No one knew a thing,” she shared. “My dad’s a very prideful person, and growing up, especially on TV, it was like, ‘We don’t talk to therapists. We talk to each other. That’s what you do. No one on the outside needs to know any of our business.’”

Then she revealed that after her suicide attempt, she entered an “intensive therapy program” that was life-changing. “It was like a game changer for me,” she shared. “It was finally the moment where you realize, like, ‘Hey, I need help.’ That was my kickstart to breaking apart, being at the lowest you’ve ever been to now, ‘Okay, I can start to be who I want to be.”
