About Rabbit Hole on Paramount Plus

First things first, it is clear that Kiefer Sutherland’s role in the thriller series is very different from his role in 24. Rabbit Hole tells the story of private espionage operator, John Weir (Sutherland), who makes a living helping wealthy clients manipulate situations and people to influence financial markets and control populations.

However, after a straightforward job unexpectedly goes wrong, Weir is framed for the murder of treasury department investigator, Edward Homm (Rob Yang). John ends up on the run, becoming increasingly paranoid. This leads to a tense battle for democracy, as he starts to unravel a dangerous plot by powerful forces. Along the way, he discovers they are mining data to control worldwide populations.

Now, Weir has to use all his tools learned as an espionage operator to navigate surveillance, misinformation and deception in order to bring them down.

Kiefer Sutherland stars with Charles Dance, Enid Graham and Meta Golding and was interviewed by Slashfilm about his role in the thriller series. He said working on the set of Rabbit Hole was “as great an experience as I’ve ever had.”

The 24 actor said that corporate espionage is something most of us don’t know about. To him, it was “very exciting” to be part of a show that examines the subject in such a real and entertaining way. Sutherland added, “To be able to play a character who’s using it to manipulate other people and have it finally be turned on him, you can’t ask for more as an actor.”

However, he said his character as John Weir was as interesting to him as the overall idea, adding:

It’s that perfect storm of technology and people not working for not the greater good but for themselves, as well as the great primal fear that the person in charge of knowing all the secrets is somehow having these secrets used against him!
