The news broke ahead of the season 1 finale on Sunday, October 15, at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. Moreover, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been a ratings success and became the most-viewed premiere in the history of AMC+. It is likely to be the most-viewed single season of any show on the streaming platform. Its popularity no doubt relates to the unique setting for the series, as Daryl is washed ashore in France.

Speaking of her appearance in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book Of Carol, Melissa McBride said she has always known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story, adding, “I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away.”

Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!

Meanwhile, season 2 of Daryl Dixon is currently in production in France and is set to premiere sometime in 2024. The season will star Reedus, McBride, Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney.

In season 1, Daryl is washed ashore in France and is struggling to learn how he ended up there. Over the episodes, Reedus’ character journeys through a broken France, trying to find a way to get back home. However, the people he meets along the way will complicate his ultimate plan of returning to America.
