General Hospital spoilers reveal Kristina finally getting a storyline — while she also has a new face.
General Hospital Spoilers – A New Beginning For Kristina Corinthos-Davis
Kristina Corinthos-Davis has been simmering on the back burner on GH for several years and has not had anything significant to do since the Dawn of Day cult story.
Lexi Ainsworth would make an appearance or two here and there, but now Days of Our Lives alum Kate Mansi has assumed the role and is on contract with the soap when Ainsworth was recurring.
Soap fans know Mansi from the seven years she spent playing Abigail DiMera on DAYS. Mansi brought Abby to life from 2011-2016 and again from 2018-2020. She would come on for guest appearances but did not want to be on a long-term contract, but she is happy to now be at General Hospital.
GH Spoilers – Why Fans Now Have The Emmy-Winning Mansi
Ironically, both Mansi and Ainsworth won Daytime Emmys on the same night in 2017. Mansi won for Outstanding Supporting Actress and Ainsworth for Outstanding Younger Actress. When GH decided to recast Kristina (which came as a shock to fans), the show contacted Mansi and she didn’t even have to screen test before being offered the role.
Mansi had already known Frank Valentini from a screentest she did for One Life to Live when he was executive producer there so he was someone she wanted to work with. However, learning about Kristina’s storyline is what prompted her to say yes to the offer.
“He told me this would be a story relating to the subject of endometriosis,” Mansi said in the June 18, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “I have endometriosis myself.
I have spoken on several panels about it, and as I get older, I think it’s so important for me to choose stories that center on things that I really care about and am passionate about speaking out on and using my voice for. So, when he said endometriosis, I was like, ‘Whoa.’ I think I had goosebumps.”
While Mansi didn’t give away the specifics of the story, most fans can guess that Kristina will end up being Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Holiday Mia Kriegel) surrogate to give her and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) a baby. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this story plays out.
