General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest some major shockers in the storyline involving Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Ava Jerome (Maura West). Most in Port Charles are already starting to notice how much time these two are spending together and are assuming a romance is brewing between them.

Soap Opera Digest (SOD) recently conducted a poll on their website asking readers if Austin and Ava should explore a romance. Interestingly enough, an overwhelming 70% of those who participated in the snap poll said, “no”, while 30% were open to the idea.

It’s unclear if the poll truly reflects what most GH fans want, as the number of participants was not revealed; however, just based on the major gap in the poll, it seems like the last thing viewers want is to see Austin and Ava together.

At the end of the day, the way this storyline is heading, it is probably that Austin and Ava will dabble in a little romance. Even if that means simply hooking up at some point. With Mason Gatlin (Nathanyaal Grey) entering the picture in this storyline, it does look like Austin will finally confide in Ava about his sketchy family and his history.

Something he was unable to do while he was dating Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms). Regardless, as they share a secret, and now have an “us versus them” mentality toward Mason, Ava and Austin will probably develop an incredible bond. Do they become besties or bedmates? Only time will tell.
