GH Spoilers: Ava Pulls Austin Through A Spat With Mason — Will Austin Repay The Favor?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) is still reeling from the loss of her marriage, but she’s coping. She might find herself at the bottom of one too many martini glasses every night, but she’s getting there. Bumping into good friends and having light-hearted conversations with people like Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) helps to stem the pain. During her most recent encounter with the good doctor, she ran into his cousin, Mason (Nathaynael Grey), and immediately recognized him. That’s not going to bode well for Ava, but Austin might come through for her just like she did for him.

Ava has never backed away from a fight, and she wasn’t about to tolerate being dismissed by Mason when he insisted he wasn’t at the scene of the crime when Ava was hooked. She remembers his face like it was yesterday. Ava also knows what it looks like when someone is dodging their own family. She’s done it a time or two. Having a family who is engaged in organized crime has taught Ava some pretty important life lessons. She can recognize a shady relative when she sees one and she had no problem calling Austin’s out. That seemed to impress Austin, even though he thanked her for the assist and then asked her to never do it again.

Mason’s defensive attitude has Austin’s wheels turning. It’s not as though Ava accused him of being The Hook. She merely said she remembered him being there, and that seemed to trigger his defenses. Is Mason hiding something he doesn’t want anyone to find out — most importantly Austin? If he was at the scene of Ava being attacked by The Hook, what was his reason for being there? Does Austin really want to know the truth lurking under the surface with Mason? Often, he’s learned he is better off not knowing where his family is concerned.
