Laura-WrightGeneral Hospital star Laura Wright recently opened up about her daughter Laura’s Type 1 diabetes diagnosis. The actress admits that she’s shocked by how much insulin costs for those who need it. Here’s what she has to say.

General Hospital News – Star Laura Wright Opens Up About Her Daughter Lauren’s Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis

When California’s Governor Gavin Newsom tweeted that Insulin shouldn’t be so expensive and that his state was planning on making its own insulin, Laura promptly replied with, “My daughter was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes so this is now her world and it’s insane how much insulin cost!!!”

After her fans asked her to elaborate with more details, Laura said, “My daughter is doing really well since her diagnosis – she is 24 and was diagnosed in July thanks to @finolahughes rockstar sister-in-law (Lauren was in London at the time) also type 1 and type 2 diabetes are not the same – my daughter will always need insulin.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for Laura’s Twitter followers to weigh in on the matter. Many of them replied with, “I am soooo sorry to hear this news. But she will be fine my brother in England has lived with it for 77 years. He said the key is listening to your Jody and taking your medication! My prayers are with all of you especially her!!!: along with, “Well, I hope you’re daughter continues to hang in there. I understand the difference between type 1 and 2. Everyone, who has diabetes is different. My doctor tells me, I will always be on pills, but I have for almost 20 years. My twin is type 1, so I get it.”

Another fan shared, “Glad she is doing well. I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for over 35 years. Constant blood sugar testing is imperative. I have a Freestyle Libre system for testing. It’s a game changer. Dexcom 6 is also great from what I hear. There will be ups and downs but it is manageable.”

Laura then thanked all of her fans for their kind support. It’s without a doubt that Lauren is getting the best care in the world while also getting all the love and support she needs from her famous soap opera star mother and of course, her family, too.
