General Hospital Spoilers: Liz Clears The Air About Nikolas – And Laura Lets Her

General Hospital spoilers reveal Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) has been carrying around far too much guilt about turning herself in to the police and leaving Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) to clean up his own mess — wherever he is.

Now that she’s made peace with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and comes clean with Cameron ‘Cam’ Webber (William Lipton), she can’t help but feel like she owes Laura Collins (Genie Francis) an apology for rolling over on her son and throwing him to the wolves. She couldn’t be further from the truth though.

General Hospital Spoilers — Elizabeth Webber Seeks Out Laura Collins

Elizabeth has long felt like Laura was a mother figure to her that she didn’t have with her own mom, Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby). Practically abandoned by her parents when she was just 15, Liz fell for Laura’s other son, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), and she became the surrogate mother Elizabeth really needed.

As a grandmother to her youngest son, Aiden Spencer (Enzo De Angelis), Laura has gone above and beyond for all of Elizabeth’s kids — treating each of them as her grandchildren along the way. Now, Elizabeth wants to atone for what she has done, and she can’t stomach the idea of Laura thinking any less of her.

GH Spoilers – Hint Her Apology Is Uncalled For

Elizabeth won’t get very far with her apologies to Laura before the Mayor reassures her that none of it is necessary. Laura knows Elizabeth’s heart, and she’s already certain that she made the decisions she did for the most well-intentioned reasons — one of them being helping her son protect his own son. How could she possibly fault Elizabeth for that? This isn’t the time for saying sorry, as far as Laura is concerned. For all she knows, her news grandson might not even be here if it wasn’t for Elizabeth tending to Esme during her pregnancy — given that it was her only prenatal care for the duration of it.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nikolas Cassadine Had It Coming

Nikolas wasn’t exactly a pillar of society — ever. He’s always done things the Cassadine way without much regard for who gets hurt on his way to getting what he wants. Laura knows that all too well and she has faith in the justice system to decide whether or not Nikolas is guilty, should he ever resurface to face what he has done. Until then, she will continue to clean up the mess he left as he dodged persecution and left town, abandoning yet another son in the process.
