General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that things may settle down in Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) life now that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has moved on to bigger plans. With that said, today fans celebrate all things that are Lucy, as the actress marks 37 years on the ABC soap opera.
General Hospital Spoilers – Lucy Coe Has Come A Long Way From Her Early Days!
Coe first debuted in Port Charles on April 11th, 1986, and has evolved significantly over the years. She began as a mousy librarian and grew into a scheming, seductive villainess, who eventually redeemed herself. Lucy started off as a fake librarian who took the stand for a married doctor, whom she was having an affair with.
General Hospital spoilers show Kevin O’Connor (Kevin Bernhardt) needed an “alibi” during his murder trial, and Coe had no issues lying under oath to protect him. Of course, she thought he was innocent; however, when she learned that he did commit the crime (actually, he was behind a number of murders) in typical Lucy fashion, she headed straight to the police.
While that storyline was supposed to be her “one and done” at GH, fans fell in love with hating Coe, and a legendary Port Charles resident was born.
GH Spoilers – Her Love Affairs Over The Years
While she started off having a “thing” for married doctors, Kevin O’Connor being the first, then Tony Jones (Brad Maule), Tom Hardy (Matthew Ashford), and Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) (who could forget that red dress at their wedding); Coe’s also had some beautiful love affairs over the years with “nicer” men like Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), and more recently, Martin Grey (Michael E Knight). Plus, while they’ve teetered on respectable and filthy, her relationship and friendship with Scott Baldwin is a bond that will be hard for anyone to break.
Besides her romances, Coe has really gone from “zero” to “hero” over the years, moving away from her scheming (for evil purposes) and using her plotting talents for good. Just look at the tremendous work she’s done with the Nurse’s Ball. Much of that has to do with her friendship with Dominique Baldwin (Shell Danielson) and in many ways, Dominique helped transform Coe into the sweet and quirky personality she is today.
