On Friday’s episode, Gwen got her heart broken once again by Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), while Alex clashed with Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) at Titan.

Days spoilers hint that these two will share a kiss as they drink and commiserate over their recent issues. But will it go any further? DOOL Head Writer Ron Carlivati recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about Alex and Gwen’s run-in.

He notes that both will be quite distraught when they share a drink. The writer notes that Rizczech has been floating around trying to see where she fits in the world. She’s helped Xandy while he was in a pinch, and now he’s broken her heart once again.

Meanwhile, Alex isn’t only struggling with his role and responsibilities at Titan, Maggie’s made it clear that his main project in the company, Bella magazine, is being scrapped.

On top of that, he’s still mourning the breakup between him and Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein). Carlivati notes during the SOD chat that these two characters will kiss, and also implies there might be more to come for Alex and Gwen.

In addition, during his SOD interview, Ron Carlivati says that Gwen and Alex seem like an unlikely pair, but not as much as some may think. Sure, Alex does like to “get around” in Salem and he is a bit of a wildcard character. After all, while he isn’t necessarily a “villain” or “schemer”, he does walk a fine line at times.

Then, there’s Gwen, who seems like she really does want to turn a new leaf but finds herself far more comfortable being known as “the bad” girl in town. Carlivati indicates that these two could become a possible couple that possibly creates major havoc in Salem.
