The viewers felt the same way as Braeden. Egan did a fantastic job displaying what depression and struggling with suicidal thoughts look like.

Chelsea couldn’t take the sinking feeling anymore. She begged Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to let her go and to tell Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) that she loved him. The Y&R fans felt compassion for Chelsea, despite the awful things she has done in the past few years.

Twitter user KingMinos777 tweeted to Braeden, “Thumbs up to today’s The Young and the Restless for resisting the urge to air another ‘let’s get costumed up for Halloween’s episode and having the gravitas to table the important issues surrounding depression and suicide. Well done, #YR.”

Braden responded to the tweet in all caps,” MELISSA CLAIRE EGAN HAS GIVEN ABSOLUTELY RIVETING PERFORMANCES!! I was very moved.” He ended the tweet with three thumbs up and hearts.

Y&R fans flocked to comment on Egan’s performance. Several expressed that Egan and Thompson deserved a daytime Emmy. Most agreed the scenes were hard to watch, as they hit closer to reality than most of the storylines.

Y&R Spoilers – Braeden Offered Support For Those Battling Depression

Y&R often tackles real-life issues in its storylines. Depression and suicide are complicated issues that are often overlooked. Many felt encouraged by the storyline. They felt CBS was showing them they were not alone. There is always someone willing to help. They just must seek help and recover from feelings of self-harm.

At the end of Monday’s episode, Jason Thompson and Melissa Claire Egan shared the number for help. They urged viewers to call 988 to speak to trained counselors 24 hours a day.

“No matter what you do, take care of yourself and others,” Jason Thompson said.

Whatever you do, CBS, Braeden, and Egan urge the public not to hurt themselves for a temporary feeling. Help is available to you because all human life is precious and valuable –even if your depressed mind tries to convince you otherwise.
