GH Spoilers: Is Willow Being Used For A Pro-choice Story?

General Hospital: Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) General Hospital spoilers indicate that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) has been sick for the past three months. Willow and her doctors have made excuses such as not eating, low sugar, stress, etc. for her illness but none of those remedies have fixed the problem. Now Willow is pregnant on top of her other issues. Will this come down to a choice between life and death for Willow or the baby?

General Hospital Spoilers – Pro-Choice Is A Hot Topic

GH spoilers have revealed that the writers often focus on things happening in the real world. With the overturn of Roe Vs Wade, GH writers could be turning this into a pro-choice storyline. The last time this subject came up was when Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was pregnant with Donna Corinthos (Arya and Ayla Dormiani) who was diagnosed with Spinal Bifida.

Of course, Carly decided to carry her to term. However, Willow’s case could be that carrying the baby to term could kill her. Willow is so happy about this baby but there is obviously an underlying issue. What will doctors discover is going on with Willow and how will it affect her unborn child?

GH Spoilers –  Abortions Are Common On Soap Operas

General Hospital is just one of the shows abortion has been addressed on. All My Children’s Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) was the first soap character to have a legal abortion but she was certainly not the last. Ironically enough, Eric’s abortion occurred shortly after the Supreme Court decision on Roe vs Wade in 1973.

Now GH has the opportunity to tell a story where a woman could be forced to decide to have an abortion to save her life. Will the writers tell this story or simply overlook the implications?

General Hospital Spoilers – Willow Tait Wants This Baby More Than Anything

General Hospital’s Willow could be torn between risking her life to save this baby or leaving Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), and this child motherless. Other soaps have certainly had women choose their unborn child over their life before. However, most abortions on soaps have been because the character wasn’t ready for a child. Willow’s story could be the complete opposite showing the agony of the possibility of leaving a child that is already here for an unborn child.

Will Willow follow through with this pregnancy or be forced to terminate it to save her life? Will writers have Willow give birth to this baby only to die afterward because she waited for treatment?

Would you like to see Willow have to decide between her health and the life of her child? Could Willow be a model for women who have a medical need for an abortion? Keep tuning in to see where this story is going?
