General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that according to Soap Opera Digest, fans are rallying behind Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) as the best match for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). After all, Brenda and Sonny were very close at one time. However, Brenda betrayed Sonny by wearing a wire on him among other things.

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Sonny and Brenda remained popular even though she often was pulled back and forth between Sonny and Jasper Jacks (ex-Ingo Rademacher). Sonny and Brenda were a very popular couple at one time. How much betrayal can one take from the person who is supposed to love them? How many times can you make up just to walk away again?

Sonny knew marriage to Brenda wouldn’t work. Sonny walked away once to keep from hurting Brenda, yet he didn’t learn his lesson. Sonny even found Brenda’s son that has been stolen from her to take to make her happy but that didn’t work.

Brenda came to Port Charles and married Sonny a few years ago. Apparently, fans have chosen to overlook the fact that she tried to force Jason Morgan (ex-Steve Burton) to step in and take over the business so Sonny could be with her and her son. Brenda is a selfish, entitled brat. That has been proven time and again.

Brenda walked off and left Sonny in an extremely vulnerable state and didn’t give it a second thought. Of course, Brenda contacted Robin Scorpio-Drake (ex-Kimberly McCullough) to get a letter to Sonny explaining why she left, was that supposed to help?

General Hospital Spoilers – Carly Corinthos Stood By Sonny Corinthos

Once again, Carly ended up picking up the pieces after Brenda walked out on Sonny. This was even after Sonny caused problems that make it seem that Jax was dead. Carly has always been the one who stood by Sonny. No matter how many other women Sonny was with, Carly picked up the pieces. How does that translate into Brenda being the best pairing?

Brenda Barrett was a dream, a very unattainable dream. Brenda was never willing to give Sonny what he needed. Brenda was never ready to commit to Sonny’s life as a mobster. Brenda never wanted to let Sonny be himself, she always wanted someone else. No matter how good the chemistry was, Brenda will never be the woman that Sonny needs.

Some fans still have an idealistic view of Sonny and Brenda as a great couple. However if your significant other wants to change you to fit their image, you may need to look somewhere else.
