GH Spoilers: Elizabeth Remembers: Who Abused Her?

General Hospital: Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst)

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will soon remember what happened to her in an upcoming episode of GH. Who abused her that she didn’t remember and couldn’t deal with the memory of?

General Hospital Spoilers – A Dark Childhood Memory

Elizabeth has been hiding, unintentionally, a dark childhood memory that is at the root of her bizarre behavior and her animosity towards her parents as well. Sometimes terrible things happen to children that their parents don’t understand or believe when they try to tell them, and that can set up problems in families. Sometimes children cannot communicate properly in words what has happened to them, depending on their age; sometimes they talk about monsters attacking them and parents think it’s just a nightmare.

Elizabeth saw the monster who told her not to forget him but the monster has never been clearly identified. At first, all the strange occurrences seemed to be related to the death of Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) but there may be a reason for that; her protector is gone.

GH Spoilers – Franco Baldwin Made Her Feel Safe

Franco made Elizabeth feel safe, even during those times when they didn’t seem to be getting along; and when he was killed her whole world fell apart. She knew he wouldn’t be around forever, because he had developed another brain tumor, this one inoperable, but to be killed the way he was gave her no warning. There was no time to prepare, and no time to grieve; she had to keep carrying on for her family and help her boys get through it. So when Peter August, (Wes Ramsey) who had killed Franco was no longer a threat she started having symptoms, and the things she did in her sleep made Franco seem alive.

General Hospital Spoilers – A Flashback, A Fear, Then More

Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) checks on Elizabeth at work and something unexpected happens; she has a flashback, is fearful, then has a panic attack. Those are classic symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, with repressed traumatic memories ready to finally surface; and any type of trauma can cause this. War veterans sometimes develop this after heavy combat, and their traumatic memories come to the surface in response to triggers.

Apparently when Finn came to check on Elizabeth at work something he said or did was a trigger for her trauma. She thought she was okay to check herself out of Shadybrook but maybe it was a little too soon.

GH Spoilers – Elizabeth Baldwin Remembers

A couple of days later Elizabeth has a memory surface of the abuse she suffered as a child; who abused her? She remembers it wasn’t her father and certainly not her mother; but they didn’t believe her when she tried to tell them. A pedophile was living in their neighborhood, and when she was a child that wasn’t much talked about. She and Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) and the other children in the neighborhood just called him creepy man. The man was tall and skinny and scary and he molested Lizzie, as she was called then but she never told Terry; she pushed it down.
