Royal Family News: Leader Of Black Choir At Sussex Wedding Says Prince Charles Not Racist

Harry And Meghan British royal family news reveals that the black choir that performed at Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s wedding was invited by Prince Charles. On top of that the gospel group’s founder went on record saying she does not believe that he is racist.

Karen Gibson MBE and her London-based Kingdom Choir performed a rendition of soul classic Stand By Me at the May 2018 nuptials at Windsor Castle and she refuses to entertain the notion, put forth by Meghan and Harry, that Charles could be racist.

Gibson told TMZ that Charles was the one issued the invitation them to perform at the wedding and that he went, “out of his way,” to congratulate them on their success.

She told the outlet that she is, “finding it hard to believe,” that it was Charles who said anything about the couple’s unborn baby being, “too dark.”

During Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah on Sunday night both made shocking allegations of racism against an unnamed senior royal.

Gibson also revealed it was difficult to get Harry and Meghan to agree to a version of the song for the wedding. She told The Sun, “They wanted the song stripped back, without a beat. Gospel is very lively and vibrant so it took a while for us to understand what they meant.”

‘We sent 12 versions to them over email but none were approved so, in the end, we had to go with what we thought was best.”

Oprah later clarified that the couple denied that the remark was made by the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh. This leaves senior royals including Charles, Prince William, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge under the cloud of suspicion cast by Harry and Meghan.

The thus far unsubstantiated claim prompted William, on a visit to a school in east London, to emphatically deny the charge. On Friday he was asked about the Markle’s allegation that his family is racist and he replied, “We are very much not a racist family.”

Also this week Buckingham Palace issued a rare statement on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen to say the family were “saddened” by how unhappy Harry and Meghan alleged they had been while living in grandeur at the palace.

The statement read in part, “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
