Mr Big’s Alive – Peloton Strikes Back

Mr Big's Alive - Peloton Strikes Back
Sex and the City fans know and love Mr. Big (Chris Noth). However, the reboot had fans in an uproar when Mr. Big was suddenly killed off in “And Just Like That…” Of course, Mr. Big’s wild lifestyle wasn’t to blame, according to viewers. It was Peloton’s fault – and its stock plummeted after the episode aired. However, Ryan Reynolds was recruited to save the day in a spoof ad.

Killing Off Mr. Big

Sex and the City fans know Mr. Big well as he was in the original TV show and joined the reboot. Now married to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), fans were shocked when Mr. Big was suddenly killed off in “And Just Like That…”

Mr. Big was a fan-favorite character, so it’s understandable why fans were so upset. It was shocking, too, as nobody expected that to happen. However, fans are blaming the bike for killing Mr. Big.

Peloton’s Stocks Plummet

After the shocking episode aired, its stock price took a huge nosedrive, so the company felt compelled to do something to save the day. That’s where Ryan Reynolds comes in. A spoof ad was created that’s just 38 seconds long, but gets the point across. It shows Noth chatting with actress Jess King, who appeared as the Peloton instructor that Mr. Big was into during the first few episodes of “And Just Like That…”

The video proves that Noth is just fine and even asks King to go for another bike ride.

Peloton Claims Bike Didn’t Kill Mr. Big

After the episode aired and fans expressed their outrage, Peloton came out to say that Mr. Big didn’t die because of their bike. According to TMZ, a company spokesperson said,

“Mr. Big lived what many would call an extravagant lifestyle — including cocktails, cigars, and big steaks — and was at serious risk as he had a previous cardiac event in Season 6.”

About ‘And Just Like That…”

Mr. Big’s death was a huge twist in the Sex and the City reboot. Despite the problems that plagued Mr. Big and Carrie, they appeared to be more in love than ever. In the episode where Mr. Big died, he didn’t ride the bike and suddenly collapse – for those that haven’t seen it. After the intense workout, he gets in the shower and collapses. Unfortunately, Carrie is the one to find him and in a voiceover, says, “And just like that, … Big died.”

So, Mr. Big might be gone but Chris Noth is very much alive. And Peloton wants to be very clear that their bikes improve health and don’t normally kill people. Good to know.
