TLC – 90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Star Molly Hopkins On The Single Life

As fans of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise know well, age differences between couples on the show aren’t exactly uncommon. We have seen the likes of Lisa Hamme, 53, and her husband Usman Umar, 30, which didn’t work out. However, Angela Deem, 53, and Michael Ilesanmi, 31, are still married, admittedly while apart, awaiting Michael’s visa. Why then do fans keep on picking on Molly Hopkins for her failed relationship with Luis?

Molly addressed the criticism on Instagram, while starring on the spinoff 90 Day: The Single Life. On the show, Molly has hit it off with a Brooklyn cop, Kelly, after he contacted her on Instagram. Kelly is interested in her charity work and while Luis was never interested in Molly’s children, Kelly is far more receptive to her daughters. While they seem compatible, fans continue to slam Molly over her new man. They wonder if the NYPD cop would want children from their relationship.

One fan commented on the post, writing, “She must expect that a man in his 30’s would want kids.” Another wrote, “As a 45-year-old woman she should know why this is probably the most important reason that she should find a man her own age!” Molly quickly clapped back at the comments, letting the fan know that Kelly is her age. It turns out she is now, indeed, dating an age-appropriate partner.

Screenrant quotes Molly from a recent interview, saying, “He’s, like, 42. He just has that baby face.” Hopkins continued, “His skin is amazing, and he has a young spirit, but he’s not young at all. He’s getting ready to retire from the force, as far as I know, but he’s not young.”

When Molly was asked if she feels the age comments are gender-specific, she agreed. “It’s just ridiculous. If it was back in the day, Hugh Hefner kept all the young honeys. It’s always been that way,” she said. “If you’re older than your guy, all of a sudden the roles are reversed and it’s very much not accepted in the same manner. And I could care less at this point because it’s not about that at all.”

Hopkins spoke about being a responsible mother, saying she is in no way seeking young men and doesn’t want to compromise her home life with her daughters. She explained that she is always careful before introducing a new partner to her two girls and added that age isn’t something that attracts her to particular people she is dating.

Despite the online criticism, Molly isn’t letting this affect her growing romance with Kelly. In fact, they seem to be a compatible duo indeed. They recently enjoyed a steamy video call on 90 Day: The Single Life and seem to be falling in love.
